The Act of Working

This year, my space had to be reclaimed. I took four square meters to create an artificial world, a boxed environment which contains elements from the theatre. The created space originated as a workspace and has now transformed into a space for components of work to be shown. Not only work, but the act of working, are put on a stage. By taking these processes out of their environment, I want to emphasize the aesthetic value that consists in the actions of making an artwork. Together with the scenery, these actions become part of the image.

Since we are a collective group, our actions of making contribute to each other. The environment I created is no longer a place for me, but a space I facilitated for my peers. For them to put their work or work processes in relation to my work and highlight the act of working.
