The beauty of the material, like dancing paper in a garden.

It’s amazing how something that is seen as waste can be turned into a very beautiful material simply by recycling. By grinding used paper into a pulp and creating new sheets from it, I discover their temporary beauty. Each sheet is made from the same basic material: newspaper. These sheets form my visual research. I followed a different procedure with each sheet to document and compare the differences. I then hung the sheets outside to see the effects of the weather. The influence of nature on material is what fascinates me. This fascination arose from the influence of light on natural and processed materials. First, it was the natural inks that change color over time. Now it is the paper that takes on a different color or shape under the influence of sun, wind and rain.
