My work focuses on, among other things, my own body, the bodies of my loved ones and the plants in my room.

I call the space where my subjects and objects are situated a ‘bedroom environment’. This is a place where the body can be what it is entirely. Here, there’s space for rest, intimacy and individuality. I shine a light on these intimate moments and try to depict them in the most sensory way possible.
I paint or draw them realistically. My work focuses on, among other things, my own body, the bodies of my loved ones and the plants in my room. The depiction of these bodies originates from conversations I have with people about their relationship with their body.
By painting and drawing them in a figurative way, I can nourish and love them, by considering every detail. Though, to not literally copy the images I also use my fantasy and interpretation; for instance by imagining what kind of colours the skin can also contain. The skin is a playground; extra color stains, stripes or red dots are added. In this way I can dive into the body and challenge myself to show this, in the most open way possible, with all its dimples and bumps.
