Jan en Merlijn

This work is about the weight and importance of the moment when two or more people meet. I investigate what human interaction means by putting the body at the centre of communication.

In society, where we are brought up, an appeal is made to reason and therefore often has a linguistic slant.

To give a different perspective, I use performance in which I have experienced that it can bring me closer to myself and another person. The body is the instrument. It contains a voice, feeling and movement. With this, one can create an enormous power and “”force”” a moment in which a chemistry can arise between individuals.

I have asked performer Jan Groenland and actor Merlijn De Meyer Engelbeen to enter into this intensive work process with each other.
