Into The Unknown
Trees that stare at you, a conch shell with a human face, a cave as a portal to another world and human figures that immerse themselves in nature. That is what you’ll see in the photo exhibition into the unknown.
Modern man has abandoned the realm of the unknown and mysterious, and has settled down in the realm of the functional. Nature has become a distanced spectacle, objectified and ‘over there’. We often forget that we too, are nature: we are part of the interconnected universe, humans, animals and plants alike.
In this project I try to reveal this truth. I believe an image can conjure up the landscape of the mystical that is beyond words, beyond science, and beyond reason. I use metaphors in my work as a tool to examine the tension between representation and the imagination.
